With Japan's 2020 educational reforms shifting from a grammar-translation approach to fostering practical communication skills (while also providing Japanese language skills for foreigners), and the recent educational reforms in sub-Saharan Africa aimed at creating a more inclusive, empowered, and conducive learning environment for quality education and sustainable development, both initiatives are crucial for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These reforms will, on one hand, support Japan’s local and global business. provide tools for breaking language barriers and enhance social connections within the country.
On the other hand, they will promote local management and greater community involvement in schools across Africa. Becoming a member of the KYOKAN support network is a meaningful way to contribute to this transformative movement and help accomplish our vision for Japan and sub- Saharan Africa.
