Our Previous Work

Outdoor Japanese-English Learning Program

Last week (January 4, 2025), the KyoKan Support Network conducted an engaging Japanese-English outdoor learning program designed mainly for foreign residents and their children. This program aimed to create a fun bilingual learning environment by teaching and facilitating discussions in Japanese for adult participants and in English for children, many of whom were born or raised in Japan.

The event gathered around 40 participants, including 6 KyoKan Support members. It was run for about an hour. The activities were conducted to promote language practice through interactive and fun outdoor tasks, fostering both language skills, cross-cultural communication and good relationship building.

The program received overwhelmingly positive feedback, especially from the younger participants, many of whom were around 15 years old. They expressed great enthusiasm and a strong interest in participating in future bilingual outdoor programs.

Given the success of this event, the KyoKan Support Network looks forward to organizing more of such programs, with a focus on promoting Japanese and English language learning, to foster deeper community connection and healthy relationship building in a natural, supportive and friendly environment.

Would you like to join our next outdoor Japanese and English learning activities? Stay tuned for upcoming events and be part of the learning for good relationship building adventure! Thank you
